Monroe Environmental Sponsors Get WISE Event

Monroe, MI – Monroe Environmental is proud to have been a sponsor for the Romulus Chapter of Get WISE (Women In Science & Engineering). Their first annual event was held at General Motors Romulus Propulsion Operations, December 12, 2019. This year’s theme was “Fuel Your Imagination” with a lesson in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.
115 girls from Romulus Middle School, along with daughters and granddaughters of employees started the event with an educational plant tour and opportunities to interact with professional women. There were also many fun activities for them to participate in including a “hands on” competitive technical challenge of building and racing fuel cell cars.
The mission of the Get WISE program is to educate middle school girls about various career opportunities related to Science & Engineering while encouraging them to pursue a college education – a goal Monroe Environmental fully supports.
